Club Bo

Bo Jackson Nike

Wise cracking 1991 advertisement for 'Club Bo', Nike's Bo Jackson fan club. The Bart Simpson copy is aimed squarely at kids, but the tone of the ad is consistent with much of Nike's marketing during the 80s and 90s. From Mars Blackmon's motor mouth to the classic Bill Sumner skit posters, Nike revelled in goofing off and poking fun at its own athletes. Everything's a bit more serious and on-message nowadays, but Nike's still at its best when it plays the entertainer.
